OmWana is a charity based in France, founded in 2022 by Harmonie K, an ethologist who has been working in Africa since 2017.
The purpose of the association is to support schoolchildren in the Kaseeta area, located in Hoima District (Uganda, East Africa), by helping them secure a better future through the funding of their annual school tuition fees.
 

The association operates entirely on donations and sponsorship, collected through this website.
All donations are allocated directly to covering students’ school fees and basic logistics (such as transport for our liaison officer on the ground, who meets with families and schools).
 

Donations are transferred every term to our Ugandan vice‑president, Solomon, who handles the payments directly with the schools and provides invoices as proof of payment.
We closely monitor each child’s school progress by maintaining direct communication with their teachers, schools, and families. We receive their academic results at the end of every term and visit them regularly.
 

Although many children begin primary school, very few manage to complete their education, often dropping out before finishing the primary level. Secondary school fees are significantly higher and usually require students to move to the city and live in boarding schools, which most families cannot afford. Additionally, children are often required to work in the fields once they reach a certain age in order to support the household.

To address these challenges, our association is committed to supporting each child until the end of secondary school, enabling them to obtain their official school-leaving certificate.
